How I Improved 200 points on the SAT! :)

*In the tune of Rude by Magic!* "Saturday morning, jump out of bed and take a test soon..."

For college, all high school students need to take the SAT. While there are test-optional schools, most colleges (especially the more selective ones) require you to take a standardized test or two. In this post, I'll tell you how I improved 200 points on the SAT and how you can too! I got a score above 2250 and since I took it twice, my superscore (sum of highest individual sections) is above 2300.

#1 - Start memorizing more vocabulary:
Those 19 sentence completion questions can be pretty difficult if you don't know what the words mean. Most of the time, the sentences aren't really that hard and you can even guess what the word to be put in the blank means but you just don't understand the options! Vocabulary is also really important to know for the comprehension sections because certain types of questions - such as tone/mood ones - often require you to know what certain words mean. For instance, you may know that the mood is happy, but the SAT would much rather give you a more complicated word. So start memorizing vocab! Flashcards work well when it comes to memorizing vocab! Quizlet is great because you can test yourself too!

#2 - Learn how to eliminate options:
Critical reading tends to be a harder section for most and most of the time, the hardest section to improve in. However, you can still do it! I went from a score in the high 500s to one in the low 700s. What helped me the most (along with vocab) was learning how to make the most of reading the passage and being able to confidently eliminate options. When I read passages, I liked to mark certain lines that I thought were important and also mark any line references. Then while answering the questions, I would go through each of the options and try to eliminate them. I could usually 3 out of 5, but picking between the last two was the hard part. I generally split each of the options into 2 parts and then tried to determine which ones had more support from the passage.

#3 - Study more essay examples and know how to tweak them:
For the essay on the SAT, you need to have an example bank from you can use one or two examples to support your thesis. A good example that supports your essay can really get you a double digit score. So, pick some good examples from various topics - technology, success, etc. Also make sure you know how to tweak them according to the given prompt. In order to do this, you need to know your example inside out!

#4 - Practice math:
Once you've brushed up on basic algebra, you need to practice. Take timed sections - this will help you work faster and more efficiently on the actual test day!

#5 - Go through grammar rules and know how they are used:
Once you've read through the basic grammar rules, practice questions and take note of how they are tested. Make sure you don't over think the "No error" questions by saying that you think there needs to be a certain rule, when in fact, there doesn't have to be. Once you practice doing a lot of questions, you will notice certain patterns in the way the SAT tests you!

That's how I improved on the SAT! Hope this post helped you! I will do another post about resources/books you can use to study for the SAT!

Why you SHOULD make To-Do lists! :)

Procrastination. Something that everyone does, at some point or another. So, how do you overcome procrastination? The simplest way of doing so is by making To-Do lists.

Why To-Do lists are awesome:
They:
  • Help you overcome procrastination
  • Give you an idea of how many things you need to do
  • Help you manage your time
  • Help you actually start doing something productive
  • Motivate you to do more (especially once you start crossing things off!)
The list goes on and on!

When you make a To-Do list, you write down a list of things that you need to do (oh, really?). This gives you a visual representation of what you need to get done, instead of keeping it all up in your head. It also ensures that you won't forget things that you have to do. Once you make a list, you can assess the importance of different tasks. This will enable you to plan and manage your time as this will help you do tasks in their order of priority. Doing all of this is the first step to overcoming procrastination and actually getting things done!

Hope this post helped you in some way! Thanks a TON for reading! Make sure to subscribe/follow my blog (links below) so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

The first week of school! :)

I started school last Wednesday and the past week has been quite busy! I'm in 12th grade (or senior year, as some call it) and the workload has already been quite a bit! In this post, I'll recap my week and describe my classes!

My classes:

1 - English 12:
Haven't done much in this class yet, except go over the syllabus and the requirements for the course. Don't really know what to expect.

2 - AP Biology:
I've already had a test on chapter 1 and chapter 2's test is tomorrow. What?! That's a bit fast! However, the teacher has not actually taught anything yet as she said that the chapters were ones studied previously and so she's giving us tests on them. Hope the class isn't this fast!

3 - AP Calculus AB:
In India, I studied some Calculus, but not much. Maybe a couple of chapters at most. So, to jump right into AP Calculus AB is a bit of a challenge for me, but the teacher is explaining concepts well and I think I will be able to do well in the class (provided I put in the work required, of course).

4 - Government:
This a a mandatory 12th grade course I have to take. While I'm not particularly fond of social studies, I still think I'll enjoy the course. The teacher is explaining things well so far! However, there is this research project (For Government and English combined) that I am a bit nervous for.

5 - Anatomy and Physiology:
I really like this class so far. I do enjoy Biology in general so I guess that might be a given. The teacher definitely connects concepts while teaching, so that's nice too. Don't know how it'll be during second semester, when it's time for dissection though!

6 - AP Chemistry:
As you can probably tell by now, I enjoy Science! This particular class (especially with the teacher I have) is supposed to be one of the hardest in the school! Nevertheless, I actually think I'll enjoy this class and learn a lot!

That's what I gathered from my first week of school! I haven't really met anyone yet though!

How has school been for you so far? What grade are you in? Leave a comment below! :) Also, tell me any school/organization post requests you may have!

Also please make sure you subscribe/follow (links below) so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

Back to School: Supplies Haul! :)

School Supply shopping. Probably the best part about going back-to-school! I got things from Walmart, Staples and Target. Here's everything I got!

Back to School: School Supply essentials + free printables! :)

Back to school shopping mainly includes buying supplies for the upcoming school year. Sometimes walking into a Staples or even the Back-to-School section of other stores can be a little overwhelming and if you really do like supplies, you will possibly end up buying more than you need. Way more than you need. So, I made 2 printables (free, of course!) for you to download and print to use as a guide for when you go school supply shopping.

Last year, I did 2 posts on School Supply Staples. They are:
Make sure to read those if you haven't yet!

This year, since I already had done a list, I decided to make a printable version of that list.

The first printable has pretty much everything mentioned in the two posts linked above and a few extra spaces for you to add anything else that you might want! You can click the link below and on the top of the screen, you'll have options to download/print!

However, if you already have most of the things listed in the printable above, this is a blank list that I made for you to download, print and use! This one is in the form of two tables. In each table, there is a smaller column on the left. You can use this as a box to check off the supplies one by one or just number the supplies!

I hope you like the printables! This is my first time making them! Let me know if you use them in a comment below and feel free to request any more printables you would like to see or other back-to-school posts you would like to read in the comments too! Also, please make sure you follow/subscribe to my blog (links below), so you know when I post next! Thanks!

Back to School: The 3 best times to buy School Supplies! :)

School supply shopping. Something that I enjoy. (Yes, I know that it sounds weird) With school coming up soon, I thought I'll give you an idea of the best times to buy school supplies. I think there are three  times when you could buy school supplies that would make them both cheap and worth it!

Back to School 2014: Introduction! :)

Well, it's the beginning of August and school is right around the corner! (Actually, there's still a few weeks, but school will start before you know it!) So that means it's time for "back to school" posts! While school is probably not where you want to be any time soon, it will come. And another year will pass before you know it!

This is the first time that I will be doing back-to-school posts!

How I Organize: Makeup! :)

Makeup. Some people like to have a lot of it. Others like to have the bare minimum (like me!) Either way it has to be organized. In this post, I'll show you how I organize my makeup!

New Year's Resolutions - What a FAIL!

It's almost the end of July. How many of you made New Year's Resolutions at the beginning of the year? *Raises hand* How many of you actually have been keeping up with them? (Not me)

With nearly 7 months of the year having just flown by, I can't even believe school is just around the corner and that it seems like yesterday was when I made the resolutions!

I decided to go through the post of my 2014 Resolutions and see exactly what I've done!
I am copying text from that as since I wrote that in the beginning of January, it'll be interesting to see what I wanted to do and exactly how much of it I've done!

#1 - Establish a proper sleeping schedule!
THEN:
School is absolutely crazy for me - now I even have 2 tests a week, finals coming up in a month & school from Monday to Sunday! I sleep at around midnight & wake up at 6:30 in the morning. It may seem like a decent amount of sleep, but most of the time, I'm still not feeling rejuvenated & wide awake for school!
I have no idea if my biological clock isn't functioning all that well, but I need to make sure it does!

NOW:
Now I don't have school since it is summer and I do feel more rejuvenated after sleeping in a bit! I'm pretty sure my biological clock functions well, though. While I have done this, it might be different when I go to school again!

#2 - Slowly go from FAT to FIT!
THEN:
Exercise. Eating healthy. Weight loss. These 3 probably top the list of all resolutions ever made since people have started making new year's resolutions! Now, I'm not looking to lose weight but fat instead - one step at a time! I'm not setting any numbers for myself, like - "I want to exercise 5 times a week", or "I have to burn at least 800 calories a day" because I know I won't be able to achieve it! I don't even exercise 5 times a month!

NOW:
Just like the many people who have made this resolution, I have failed. I do swim weekly which is a great and fun workout, and once in a while, I do walk from place to place. So I guess something is better than nothing right? I have been choosing a bit healthier options when it comes to food, which is always nice.

#3 - Record life!
THEN:
We all can remember events that have occurred, both good and the not-so-good, but I would like to preserve the good ones - either by taking pictures or writing down little things that made me smile/laugh!
Have you ever done something related to this? I've that a lot of people have come up with all sorts of things to preserve memories!

NOW:
This one I have done, quite a bit in the past few months. Not so much during the first couple of months of the year because I had finals and there's nothing worth of recording during that time of the school year! I have been saving certain random things to keep as memories and taken quite a few pictures here and there! So, this one hasn't really been that unsuccessful!

#4 - Change myself for the better!
THEN:
You might be thinking, what do I mean by changing myself? Well, there are quite a few things about me that I would like to change! I've decided to club them together to make one massive resolution but I could easily split it into 10 smaller ones! It might sound kind of self-centered but if you think about it, it actually isn't! Here are some things I would like to change:
  • Being negative - When it comes to school, I'm positive! However, when it comes to everything else, I can be a complete pessimist!
  • Being happy only on the outside - to others, I seem pretty happy whereas inside I'm not as happy as I seem to be. I would like to be genuinely happy this year! (And for the rest of my life!)
  • Stop comparing myself with others - I have what I have & I must accept it - accept the way that I am or change it the way I want to, the way that I think it would benefit me! I've realized that comparing myself with others & thinking about "have nots", is a waste of time!
  • Bringing myself down: Now, when anyone ever says anything bad to me, it has no effect on me at all! But, when I think about my imperfections, I can bring myself down much harder than anyone else can. I am my worst enemy. (sounds kind of deep, doesn't it?) I need to learn to love myself & get past those perfect imperfections!
  • My level of focus & determination! Since I do have some long term goals that I would love to achieve, I definitely need to be more focused & determined!
NOW:

  • I'm still kind of negative - hence my dad got me a book from the library about positive thinking!
  • I do feel stressed out at times (you know, with the #1 question all high school seniors get? - What do you plan to do after high school?), but overall I do feel pretty happy! (But I do miss my friends)
  • I do still compare myself when it comes to the whole college application process that I have currently started - to know that thousands and thousands of applications are sent in to accept only a fairly small group of students does often make one think - "Are my grades/test scores better? Is my essay topic clich√©? Am I doing enough? What if others have done more?" As far as other aspects go, I don't compare myself much anymore.
  • I guess this ties in with being happy and comparing myself - When I compare myslef, I bring myself down, but when I'm happy, I realize that I shouldn't bring my self down!
  • I've definitely improved in this aspect - I'm more focused and determined about what I would like to accomplish one day!

#5 - Enjoy life! Live it to the fullest!
THEN:
Again, another clich√© but I think that if I achieve resolution #4, I will automatically achieve this one too! Sometimes, when you look back to the past , you might regret not doing certain things. You might think - why not? This year, I'm going to try to change my mindset & say "Why not?" Try to do things, big or small, things that I never would have even thought of doing! Live a little more in the present!

NOW:
Since I haven't exactly achieved all of the above, this one has definitely not been something that I have done.

To sum it all up, I failed. I have not thoroughly followed through with most of the 100 5 resolutions that I made at the beginning of the year. Maybe next year, I should make the resolution of not making any more resolutions!

How have you been doing with your resolutions that you made (if any) at the beginning of the year? If you have, how exactly have you approached them?  Leave a comment below! Also, please make sure to follow/subscribe (buttons in the right sidebar) so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

How I Organize: Stuff for summer school! :)

The reason I've been lacking a bit in posting this month is because I've been a bit busy with the two summer classes that I am taking (+ standardized test prep and college essays! Can't believe I'm going to be a high school senior!) Anyways, in today's post, I'll show you how I am organizing myself for the summer session!

The two classes that I am taking are US History semesters 1 and 2. (as I don't have the credit for them) Since I have only two classes, this organization system is simple and efficient!

Simple travel tip! :)

After your flight lands, you're most probably tired but you will most likely have to go to the baggage claim to get your checked in luggage. And of course, no one feels like doing that.

Once you do get to the carousel, most people's suitcases tend to be black. So, a simple way to differentiate between yours and almost everyone else's is to tie a ribbon on the handle of your suitcase! Get some crazy patterned one - it'll stand out even more! (the one in the image above is a simple white one, but still works!) You could also use different locks, however, my once my dad's suitcase almost got mixed with someone else's -same suitcase, same lock!

That's it! It's a simple trick that does work - especially if you're traveling with others and you all have a lot of suitcases!

Thanks a TON for reading this post! Do you have any tips to make travel just a little bit easier? Feel free to leave a comment below! Please make sure you follow/subscribe (buttons in the right sidebar) so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

ACT is over! Requests? :)

Long time, no post! Sorry about that! I finally finished taking the ACT! So, how did it go?

English: A bit harder than the usual practice tests but I still think I did well nonetheless.
Math: It was good! Though there is one question that I am sure I got wrong.
Reading: 3 out of the 4 passages went well! However, the remaining one was a bit of a shocker - it wasn't like anything I had seen out of all of the practice tests I took and it was quite similar to a certain component in the SAT (cannot disclose anything). That's what I'm not sure of - even though it wasn't that hard, it was definitely time taking. And with 40 questions to do in 35 minutes, I did rush a bit.
Science: This, I think, was my best section! I was able to finish it using the strategy that I had adopted and practiced! It worked and I even had a minute left!
Essay: I was kind of looking forward to the essay because I knew it would be school related just as all of ACT's prompts are. I write down a few pints as soon as I saw the topic and wrote the essay! I didn't have time to review all of it, however, I did review half of it.

Well, I'm glad that's over! Now all I have to do is wait for my scores (trust me, this is boring and I wish I could get them the following day instead).

Now I have noticed that I have gained a couple more followers and a few more people have been visiting my blog! So, do any of you have any organization-related post requests? It can be anything! Feel free to leave a comment below and I'll do my best to do them! Go ahead!

That's everything! Please make sure you subscribe/follow so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

SAT - It's over! :)

That smiley face is back up there next to the title - I finally took the SAT yesterday!

So, how did it go?
Well, the essay was good. I was able to write 2 entire pages with some time to spare to read over the essay.
Math was easy for the most part, I think I got only 1 question wrong.
Writing went pretty well too, but I think I got 1-3 wrong.
Critical Reading - this was the section that I was the most nervous about. The vocabulary part was pretty good, though I know I missed a couple. As for the passage based comprehension, no idea. I did the best that I could and I'll just have to hope for the best. I didn't omit any questions at all, but now I'm thinking I should have maybe omitted a couple.

I was able to manage my time well - in all of the 10 sections, I had time to check my answers. In math, I was able to check all of them, in writing most of them and in reading, the ones that I weren't so sure of.

Overall, I think the test went well! In fact, there was a school drill in between the test so the test got over about half an hour later than it was supposed to!

After the test, we went to IKEA (aka home & organization heaven!) to look for some furniture - I might get a bed/desk from there! Oh, and had some $1 frozen yogurt there too (which by the way, is super delicious)

Now what? I have to study for the ACT, which is next Saturday! I resumed ACT prep today (put it on hold because of the SAT) and so far, so good. I'll probably do a 5 3 day countdown for that too!

That's it! Thanks a TON for reading this post! Did any of you take the SAT/have any other final? Or anyone you know? If so, how did you/they do? Make sure you subscribe/follow (buttons in the right sidebar) so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

How I Organize: My Toiletries/Cosmetics Pouch! :)

*Hi! Welcome to my blog if you're visiting from the "One Project at a Time" link party at A Bowl Full Of Lemons! Hope you enjoy my post! Feel free to look around some more! If you would like to know a little more about me, click here!*

With traveling across the world, (click here to know about it!) I wanted to keep all of my toiletries/cosmetics in a reasonably sized pouch to use at the airport (I didn't use anything on the plane - ended up sleeping too much! :P) and also at the hotel! So, let's get into it!

*not affiliated with any of the brands mentioned, all opinions are my own!* :)

If anyone close you know ever makes a round-trip flight in business class, take advantage of it and ask if you can have one of the travel pouches that they would have received - they make good pouches for all of your travel needs! This pouch is from Emirates, which I took from my dad (he had four!) :P

How I Organize: My Carry On Bags! :)

In this post here, I tell you about how we are moving to the US! (already moved!) Since the flights were about 20 hours in total, I decided to show you what's in my carry on bags and how I organized them!

Carry on #1 is a regular backpack. Carry on #2 is a backpack which I used as a laptop bag but I also kept quite a bit of other things as well! Each bag is under 7 kilograms, the limit for carry on baggage.

SAT Subject Tests! :)

I'm back! Finally. The past 10 days have been so crazy - traveling, jet lag but most of all, studying. Yesterday, I took the SAT subject tests, actually, 3 SAT subject tests! I took Math Level 2, Biology (M) and Chemistry.
Well, how did I do? Before that, how did I prepare? I studied from the Barron's books for each subject, which are supposed to be much much harder than the actual test, especially for Math level 2. I studied for a little over a month, but did a lot of practice tests and revision throughout the past week. I'll break down my expectations and experiences by subject:

How I gave my blog a makeover! :)

*Hi! Welcome to my blog if you're visiting from the "One Project at a Time" link party at A Bowl Full of Lemons! Hope you enjoy my post! Feel free to look around some more! If you would like to know a little more about me, click here!*

If you've read my blog for a while, then you may have noticed that I gave it a makeover! To see how it looked before, click here! It took a while and I have probably gone through thousands (ok, not that many) blog design, HTML & other related tutorials, but I think it was all worth it! I'm planning to add a few things, but for now that'll remain on hold (click here to know why). In this post, I'll mention all of my resources that I used to do the makeover!

*all links are non-affiliate* :)

#1 - Background:
I searched site after site looking for a background that I liked. I knew I wanted a subtle, patterned, blue/teal (preferably a light shade) background. Finally, I came across Fabulous Blogging's "Best Free Websites for Background Images" post and went through all of the sites. I found the current teal and white polka dot textured background on Background Labs (link for this one is here)! All I had to do was download the PNG image - it was as simple as that! Blog Makeover?! :)

Hi!

Well, you might be able to tell, my blog looks different. Very different. I gave it a makeover! Took a while, reading tutorial after tutorial & trying to figure out HTML (hey, that kinda rhymes! If you say it kind of fast) but I finally did it! Of course, it doesn't look super professional and all that, but it's much better than before, don't you think?

I might go over what I did do to give it a makeover in detail, if you would like me to! Leave a comment below! It wasn't that hard at all!

And now for the Before and After!

Just typing up this quick little post to inform you that I'll be taking a break from blogging for the next two weeks or so. Life's been pretty busy and some things are going on, but until then, feel free to check out any of my other posts!

Have a great day!

Finals Frenzy: Biology! :)

My last 11th grade final! It was on March 3rd!

Before the exam:
A little tense, a little relaxed. Since Biology is one of those subjects where you do need to memorize quite a lot of it, I wasn't that confident - it felt like I knew things & didn't at the same time. I revised as much as I could on the day of the exam & went through all of the diagrams. With 22 chapters to revise, it was quite a lot to study!

During the exam:
I did my best & somehow finished the exam. While I didn't remember a few things, I tried to recall the concepts as much as I could.

Finals Frenzy: Math! :)

Final #4! Math!

The exam was on 28th February.

Before the exam:
Excited. Yup - you read that right. I like to see what the paper can throw at a student for a math test - as long as they don't throw too many hard questions, I like a challenge! I went through all of the formulae again before the exam (though now, I wish I had gone through it twice!) and quite a few people ased me their doubts. Why? Because people think that I'm actually good at math! Though I'm not really - I just practice a lot and try to think to get an answer, not memorize how to do it!

Finals Frenzy: Chemistry! :)

The Chemistry final - where do I even begin?

For starters, it was on 26th February.

Before the exam:
Frantic. Stressed. Worried. The three words that described me before the exam - the day of and the day prior (I didn't even have dinner!) With SO much to study, I started to worry. I revised the best I could and went to school to write the exam.

During the exam:
While I had finished with a good amount of time to spare, I still didn't get quite a few answers! I also checked my paper to make sure that I hadn't made any mistakes in those that I had gotten - it's always better to be on the safer side, right?

Finals Frenzy: Physics! :)

Final #2! Physics! It was on 24th February (Yes, I'm behind on these posts, sorry!).

Before the exam:
Since the exam was at around 2 pm, I did revise that day before the exam. I started with the chapters that I found hard and worked my way through all of the 16 chapters, one by one, each being lesser difficult as I did! Prior to the day of the exam, I followed a strict colour-coded Post-it revision schedule!

During the exam:
I was definitely calm and collected before the exam! I thought I had prepared myself well!
I answered all of the questions (Exam duration: 3 hours) and I finished with some time to spare to work on 2 questions that I had not been able to figure out. I checked my paper and sort of figured out a way to answer those 2 questions!

Crazy Closet Clutter Cleanout! :)

As there are a LOT of pictures in this post, it may take a while to load!

*Hi! Welcome to my blog if you're visiting from the "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" link party #8" Or the "Monthly Organizing Link Party (February) at IHeartOrganizing"!
Hope you enjoy my post! Feel free to look around some more! If you would like to know a little more about me, click here!*

What is the #1 disorganized place in your house/room? For me, it's my closet! Honestly, a disaster won't even begin to describe how bad it is! Well, I finally decided to do a Crazy Closet Clutter Cleanout! (Alliteration much?) I did a while back & it took me a few hours. (Wish I had got this up earlier but I've been extremely busy with finals! (By the way, there is a "Finals Frenzy" series!)

Anyways, here's it is! I tried to use as many pictures as I could! :) I think "A picture is worth a thousand words" works here! Also, sorry if the page loaded slowly!

Finals Frenzy: English! :)

Finals have begun! The first one was on Thursday (sorry for the delay, I've been busy studying Physics) and it was English! Here's the breakdown:

Before the Exam:
The exam is actually at 2 pm, so I went to school in the afternoon. Up until then, I was just reading the 16 chapters that I had for the test (+one novel) - again and again. I didn't follow much of a revision schedule for English since it is one of my lighter subjects, actually the lightest.

Finals Frenzy: Mini Pre-Finals Haul! :)

Since finals is just around the corner, in fact, this week, I decided to go pick up some things that I wanted to for finals!

It's only a few items but hey, it's not back-to-school shopping, right? ;)

Finals Frenzy: My Study Schedule: Week #4! :)

All 4 weeks of revision tests are done! Yay! But wait...finals are yet to begin! Oh well, at least something is done!

Finals starts on Thursday, which is in a few days! Still revising & super busy, but I know that it'll all be worth it in the end!

Here's what I wrote in my Exam Planner this week:

*There was almost NO homework! So I didn't write anything down on Post-it notes! Also, on Saturday, I didn't study finals related subjects, so I didn't include what I did on that day!

That's it! Thanks a TON for reading! Quick post, but stay tuned for one of my next ones! I'm super excited for it! Make sure you subscribe/follow my blog (buttons in the right sidebar) so you don't miss it! Thanks!

So, what do you think of my Study Schedules?

Finals Frenzy: My Study Schedule - Week #3! :)

Only one more week to go! This week was a bit better because I actually didn't go to school for 2 days as I had to attend a family event! It felt good to relax a little! That's why there are only 3 days in this week's study schedule!

On Tuesday, I spent my time packing (it was a very grand event, so it required quite a bit of packing), Thursday I studied 1 chapter after coming back home late and didn't include it & finally on Saturday I went through music theory as I have an exam for that in a couple of months!

Anyways, here's the 3 days that I did write in my "Exam Planner":

That's it! I know this post was short, but I didn't have a lot of work this week anyways!
10 days left for finals though! There's already a lot more work this week! In addition to the Chemistry, Physics and Biology tests, I even have Math tests everyday!

How's school for you now? Leave a comment below! Please subscribe/follow my blog (buttons in the right sidebar) so you know when I post next! Thanks! :)

Quick paper re-organization! :)

*Hi! Welcome to my blog if you're visiting from the "Monthly Organizing Link Party (February) at IHeartOrganizing" or the Hit Me with Your Best Shot" link party #8! Hope you enjoy my post! Feel free to look around some more! If you would like to know a little more about me, click here!*

If you've been reading my "Finals Frenzy" series, then you know that I have multiple tests everyday, from Monday to Saturday! This means that I have a lot of papers including everything from notes to question papers and more! I do have an expanding file folder that I use to organize myself and I still do! As the title says, I cleaned out some papers and re-organized the accumulated ones making way for all the ones to come (trust me, the file is pretty full already!)

Finals Frenzy: My Study Schedule - Week 1! :)

*Welcome to my blog! Visiting from the One Project at a Time! link party? Click here to go back to it! Hope you stick around & enjoy reading my blog! Thanks!* :)

Yay! Week 1 of finals prep is over! 3 more to go! (Yes, you read that correctly, prep!)
It was tough but I got through it alright!

Here's what tests the week included:

Colour Code:

Chemistry
Biology
Physics

Monday:
Test #1 - Ch.1

Tuesday:
Test #1 - Ch. 1 & 2
Test #1 - Ch. 14 & 16

Wednesday:
Test #2 - Ch. 3

Thursday:
Test #2 - Ch. 13 & 17

Friday:
Test #2 - Ch. 3 & 4
Test #3 - Ch. 18 (half chapter)

Saturday:
Test #3 - Ch. 5
Test #4 - Ch. 18 (remaining half)

Here's my "Study Schedule", that I wrote in my "Exam Planner":

  • I wrote down the chapters that I would study that day in their respective colours.
  • "R" towards the end of the line, stands for revision of a chapter that I've already studied, so I know that I can spend lesser time studying that. No "R" indicates that I have to study that chapter.
  • The light blue Post-its are for my homework, which frankly is a TON!
That's all for week #1! Thanks a TON for reading! Stay tuned for 3 more weeks & a bunch of organization/exam posts! Make sure you subscribe/follow so you know when I post next (links in the right sidebar)! Thanks! :)

Finals Frenzy: Syllabi Sorted! :)

You want to get good grades on your exams? Then you need to study (unless you're born a genius)! And for that you need to know what to study! Your syllabus! Though looking at the  table of contents in textbook after textbook may help a bit, you need to do more to be organized to the max!

I have just a little over 80 chapters to study for finals next month, sounds a little bit crazy, doesn't it? The workload that comes with finals - the numbers itself drive me crazy!

Here's how I sorted my syllabi!

This is my notebook which right now, has everything related to school & exams! It's from Staples & I love it!

I created tables to sort the syllabus, subject by subject, in their respective colour! (I did not write down the English syllabus as that is a much more lighter subject for me & all I do is read the chapters)
